Susanna Visser was the illegitimate daughter of the freed private slave Maria van Nagapatnam [Nagapattinam / Nākappaṭṭinam, previously spelt Nagapatnam or Negapatam in Tamil Nadu, India] by the free-burgher Johannes Coenraedsz: Visser (from Ommen in Overijssel). Hattingh is on record (3 October 1695) attempting to slit the throat of Catharina (Catrijn) van de Caep aka Kaet - the Cape-born freed private slave wife of Ernst Friedrich Walter (from Breslau on the Oder River, Silesia [now Wrocław, Poland]) but cutting her hand instead & was himself the victim of a grievous assault & robbery (1707) by the vagabondizing free-burgher Johann Paulus Saxe (from Magdeburg) [Mansell Upham] see: http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/RemarkableWriting/UL04DeHoopOpConstantiaJanGrof.pdf [ add by H Dreyer
